This is the original drowing of Steal Your Face. Owsley was financing the Dead's music equipment and other bands were stealing some of the equpment during some of the shows at Golden Stste Park, so Owsley was getting pissed and told me he needed something thtst made it so bands wouldn't steal the equpment.  I suggested a logo to paint on the equpment.  He liked the idea.
On our way to the Watts Acid Test, we stopped at a truck stop to eat and thats when I skeched out the Steal Your Face. Owsley loved it! The lightning boot represented his logo for the LSD and the skull repressented the dead.  

The original was destroyed in a flood in Missouri However I had pictures of it and this is what you aree looking at.  I'm taking the picture and having prited on heavy canvas to hang on a wall, great conversatin piece! I'm charging $49 for a copy.
